Antique White Cherry Tooth Paste Ceramic Jar from London England
This is a highly rare collectible antique ceramic white cherry tooth paste pot, lidded jar. This little crock is a wonderful piece of antique advertising for tooth paste. The lid features an under the glaze transfer in Victorian script against a background of scrolls and swirls. "S. Maw, Son & Sons" Cherry Tooth Paste, London, England." Dates between 1890 - 1910.
These lidded jars were used from the late 1800s to the early 1900s to market various pastes from chemists. After WWI more modern packaging made them obsolete. Like other forms of antique advertising, they are now highly collectible.
In excellent condition for it's age.
