A fabulous find! This is a string of 5 Ringneck Pheasant Pelts with the tails added back all strung together on a jute cord.
These have been used in the Interior Design industry as props for English model homes and hunting scenes. Two of them were used in a vintage Country English kitchen, on an island with a cleaver and the birds being the freshly prepared meal. The kitchen won Design awards!
These were also used for a fabulous English Fox Hunting gala fund raiser as part of the English Hunt scene.
The pelts are clean and the feathers are pristine and magnificent and so full of vibrant colors. The birds have long been gutted so the pelt folds into itself and hides the skin side of each.
One of a kind and a rare find with a bit of vintage history in the making.
