The Kauz Selzach name is a Swiss leather maker. This antique is likely from the Swiss Army from the year 1938.
These leather courier tubes held important documents to be carried on horse back or strapped over a man's shoulder. When Hitler came to power in 1933, the Swiss feared an invasion and began military preparations like no other European nation in history. In World War II, the Swiss had defenses no other country had. They were noted for their combat skills and their military equipment.
