A wonderful find! An 1872 Osgood's American Fourth Reader for Schools and Family - by Lucius Osgood and Published by A.H. English & Co. out of Pittsburgh.
This antique book has many fun illustrations that accompany many of the stories found in the book. The cover shows a bit of darkening and the leather spine shows some loss of
black color to the top and bottom but the gilt and embossing on the spine is very nice. I rate the condition of this book as Very Good. It contains 67 stories and poems after the "Principles of Reading" section.
This book is very SCARCE and highly collectible. There are only 2 copies currently for sale after viewing the 22 vintage book selling sites. The world Catalogue
shows only 4 libraries that have one copy.
