Unbelievably realistic faux elephant ivory tusks mounted on a weighted brass and wood stand.
This listing is for the pair. These tusks were made in the late 1970's and have been in one home since then.
They are made of a polymer and expertly hand colored complete with the natural lines and striations a real elephant tusk would have.
We have seen both the genuine and the faux and these are very impressive and realistic indeed.
They are life sized and have some serious weight to them. Each tusk and stand weigh 30 pounds. The pair weighs in at 60 pounds.
The brass has some dings and discolorations under the lacquer finish. The brass can be removed, polished and re-lacquered for perfection.
The brass itself is in perfect condition. Any flaw is in the lacquer finish itself.
These have flanked a fireplace in a safari room and were always a favorite of anyone visiting!
